through the park.

Crandon Park Beach

Crandon Park Beach is also a fantastic place to save a few dollars yet enjoy some great entertainment. The

beach is across Biscayne Bay and has been listed as among the best beaches in America quite frequently. There

is plenty of shade provided by the palms but you could always rent cabanas.

The park features a picnic area with grills so you can always head to the fish market close by and whip up an

amazing meal. The younger lot has plenty to look forward to at the Crandon Park Nature Center, home to an

There is also every opportunity to save a bundle at South Beach, even though it has a rep for being the glitziest

area in town. The beaches between 5th and 15th streets are free while if you are game to ride a bicycle, you can

rent a solar powered one at CitiBike and return it at one of its other stations. On your journey you can stop over

at Surfside’s beach, one of the most laid back beaches that runs from North Shore Open Space Park to 96th

Street. It’s quieter in winter and is a family oriented beach with picnic tables, bathrooms, et al.

Art Deco Tours

You can’t miss Miami’s Art Deco attractions. All you have to do is walk along Ocean Drive and marvel at the

preserved Art Deco buildings. The MiMo (Miami Modern) buildings from the 1950s with their mosaic murals

and cutout shapes can be found north of Miami Beach.

Explore Miami on the Metromover

Don’t forget to hop onto the Metromover. It’s free and a great way to explore Downtown Miami, Brickell, and

Bayside. It stops at many tourist friendly areas and arts centers while you are free to jump on and off whenever

you like. The Metromover runs in loops so you can always get back to where you begin your journey.
